a day of vintage

recently i got together with a makeup artist and a model and created some beautiful work. i love vintage and everything in this shoot, with the exception of the hello kitty necklace, are authentic vintage wear. we started off quite early in the morning with the makeup session, and then hit the streets in the area of Hoxton, London. we ended with a boudoir session… but that’s another post altogether!

funky colors, funky clothes and fun was had by all…..

ohhhh its so much fun! one of the latest trends is a bride, after her wedding day, having a bit of relaxed, artistic fun with her dress. your never going to get these kinds of shots on your wedding day and your wedding dress is one of the prettiest items you own – so: let loose, have some FUN!

this is irma, one of my brides from last year. she’s determine to have some fun today – i think she did, what do you think?

heath ledger passed away last week at the unbearable age of 28. sleeping pills were found as well as several other medications near his bed, of course the cause is yet to be determined and the sleeping pills (ambien) were there because lately, he had been having a horrible time trying to get sleep – a problem a lot of us share. heath ledger starred in several films, but the first one i saw was A Knight’s Tale. i knew then he was going to be big, but sadly, he is gone before we will ever realize his full potential as an actor. Broke Back Mountain was another movie that clearly showed his capability. Normally these things do not bother me, i never met him, never saw him in person, but what he brought to me in the form of entertainment was most appreciated and will be greatly missed.

hi all, i am finally back from holiday and trying to get back into the groove. i loved having some time off and thoroughly enjoyed it. i had a great christmas and i hope everyone else did as well. we are expecting snow today! its supposed to start this afternoon so i went out and bought a ton of wood. we have three fireplaces in our house so it takes a lot of wood to keep them going, but i love it. on new years, i went into london and had a stroll around, this is what i came back with:

the reunion of reunions. led zeppelin. are. back.

but did they ever leave? album sales, even to this day, say no.

i dont want to hear the jokes. sure, they are in their 60′s but who cares man. this is rock. this is rock and roll.

the concert was to take place back in november but due to certain health issues, it was delayed until last night.

tickets went on sale for £125, limit 2 per person. tickets sold for prices in the thousands. hollywood producers, big named rock bands, priscilla and lisa marie, kate moss, hell, even oasis were there to see the legend continue.

they played last night at O2′s arena to (of course) a sold out crowd. Every 16 year old’s dream (now bankers and lawyers in their 40′s.).

jason bonham, john’s son, played in his stead. appropo.Led Zeppelin was a ground breaking, hard core rock band of the 70′s – they hit it big in the states, i’d have to say, probably bigger than most. When i was in my teens, there wasnt anyone i hung around that didnt listen to them constantly, play their air guitar accordingly, and wear the much coveted concert tshirt.

they were the band. judging from last night’s reviews, they are the band.

if anyone knows me, they know how much i am into music. good music. i spend an insane amount of money on it. and i know what i like.

i also love musicians, i love being around them and i love watching them create. they are a gifted bunch and much like me, they are artists on a mission, striving to create the perfect gift.

I’m happy to announce that my dive into the world of music photography will first feature a london band called “the furies“ i have to say, they are a motley bunch, but that is what i find so appealing. i will be photographing them during a rehearsal and possibly an on-location shoot as well.

if there ever was a place for wonderful captures, its london. people from all walks of life, everywhere. doing their own thing. this photo could be interpreted so many different ways – who is this man talking to? is it a friendly conversation, is it business? is he making a date with the woman he met in the bar saturday night? you make the call… so to speak tehehehehe.
